Neocron Review at Gamespy

A review of Neocron is online now at Gamespy. While not too enthusiastic, they rate this game with 71/100 and have these final thoughts to offer:
Ultimately, does Neocron have what it takes to revolutionize the MMORPG genre? At this point, the answer is no. Early leveling tedium and repetitive (although decent-looking) graphics put Neocron into the "just another MMORPG" category. However, it does bring some new and interesting ideas to the table. The combat is more interesting than the typical MMORPG fare, and I did enjoy the "to PK, or not to PK" Law Enforcement chip. Neocron is designed to be a PVP-based game, but players who are just interested in killing the in-game monsters have their place too (although they are somewhat penalized by the XP/money hit). Gamers who are looking to avoid the standard MMORPG pitfalls will probably want to avoid Neocron. But for those EQ players who are looking for a new addiction and were disappointed by Anarchy Online, Neocron might just fit the bill.
