QA tester Ryan Bond wrote a Star Wars Galaxies Dev Diary over at IGN.PC. Here's how it starts:
I've made it to Naboo, at last.
It hasn't been easy: consistent fatals, world-warping malfunctions, lost connections, and loop spikes have all made getting here a complicated task... but here I am, a fresh-faced Zabrak Scout standing in a courtyard commons in the heart of Theed. The sky, the sky has gotten so much better... and now where once there were empty streets and causeways, I see a lively populace milling, conversing, or following some course on their own scripted business. When things work, it's worth all the trouble.
"Test," I say, happy to see the words appear almost instantly above my horn-strewn head. Looks like we are up and stable with city-spawner active. I set out on my first regression...
Doink! the dreaded server message pops up: [Connection to SWG Lost!]
"Aarrrgh!!" Collectively, we all groan. |
