The first real Diablo rip off. Gets old (really - your charachters age very fast) fast.

So what if it was a diablo rip off. It does what diablo failed to do in so many ways. Its one of the only games I played all the way through and more than once.

Brassi has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Brassi)

It is a great game and alot better than diablo in my opinion. Character progression is too linear (every class has turns out the same). I hate fast paced games but I really liked this game.

This game came as a surprise to me. It has a good story and a nice character development system, but the dungeons were too repetitive and the game was too small. I played it till the end though so it must have had something!

For no obvious reason I fell in love with this one when it came out. Low fat dungeon crawl...

Kheltys has rated 7/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Kheltys)

The character progression was fun, and the story line significantly more interesting than many I have encountered. The dungeons were very dark, and thus often times a tense and jolting experience. I would very much like to give this game an 8 or 9, but I feel it would be unfair to the true greats of the genre. I give it a 7, and would recommend everyone at least try the demo.

I wanted to like this game, but just couldn't get into it. Pretty but felt too... sterile. No depth to the world. Randomization limited to reshuffling dungeon sequence, didn't live up to Diablo's dynamic dungeons.

One of the most under-rated RPG's (normally by people who are better off playing Quake anyway)! It is a Diablo clone in the respect that it outdoes Diablo except for the automap, and really anal inventory/stats tweaking. Otherwise has the potential to make you never go back with features like: * Real 3D, only 640x480, but turn on all your AA for better graphics. You can zoom in to shoulder level when you want to hack and slash, zoom out or top view for a different perspective. Two games for the price of one! * Quest structure is more complex than Diablo (which is namely just 'kill this dude'). Structured around needing a second player to help out at times. * Add on quests.. some good ones been written on the net for free. Flexible engine. * and many more... only cons are a difficult to control view and level progression is fairly linear (but isn't everything thesedays?)

Really RPG lite but very satisfying. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and played it mostly mutliplayer on a LAN. I liked the idea of having two characters, and the AI was surprisinlyg deft at staying out of the main character's way in the dungeons. Not perfect by any means, and the character graphics in particular are lacking, but I did have fun with it.

nice atmosphere

HorrorScope has rated 7/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from HorrorScope)

Was a good 3D Diablo alternative in it's day.

russell has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from russell)

regular characters but long, wicked gameplay. I only beat it because of cheats. awsome design: different objectives every time you start.

Nilwarp has rated 6/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Nilwarp)

A Diablo-like game, a bit better actually, with more features in, but equally boring with the repetitive dungeons and the absence of story. No real role play here.

Mike_Noren has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Mike_Noren)

Despite bad press it's really quite a decent RPG. It's got nothing at all in common with Diablo, don't know where people get that from. It's a true 3D game, there's no classes in it, there's a fair amount of exploration, and the character doesn't age. See: http://archive.gamespy.com/legacy/previews/darkstone.shtm
