In a strange turn of events this rather late review of Warlords Battlecry at Just RPG is the first entry for this game in our database. Anyway, the score is 70% and here's a snip:
Finally, the game’s complexity works against it. Sure it has great replay value but it can be extremely difficult trying to keep tabs of hit points of different soldiers, the effect different enemies have on them, progress of construction in one area and conversion in another, casting spells, looking out for sneak attacks…and goodness knows what else. The tutorials could have helped but they barely scratch the surface. You come to grips with the more complex stuff only when you get into the thick of battle – not the best time to learn things, believe me. Similarly, I had no idea that towers would actually make my troops and characters more powerful until I saw a tip that came on screen while one of my saved games was loading!
