RPGVault continues their series of Lost Continent interviews, talking to Lead Game Designer Keith Baker and friends about this upcoming MMORPG:
Jonric: Will there be very many friendly NPCs, and what kinds of roles or functions will they have?
Keith Baker: Non-player characters are closely tied to expeditions, and as a result will play a significant role in the game. We have designed a large cast of characters for players to interact with. These include the contacts with the six power groups, who players will interact with frequently, and a variety of characters with goals and stories of their own - lounge singers, reporters seeking stories, spies, politicians, scientists, and many more. Some of these characters will wait for you to come to them, but others will appear out in the field to interfere with your adventures or to lend a hand. We will also have long-term villains who will return to haunt you. After all, villains in the serials are almost as good at making miraculous escapes as the heroes are. You may THINK you've killed the nefarious Doctor Necropolis - but he may yet return with an even more fiendish scheme! |
