Yet another preview of Warcraft 3 - Reign of Chaos, this time at GamersPulse. Here's a bit to make you click the link:
The new graphics of the game truly are a wonderful sight. The game has that cartooned over exagerated unit graphics. The thing that caught my attention about the single player campaigns is the wonderful new building that you are able to visit and see. I noticed when the orcs destroyed one of the houses a number of peasants ran out and hid in another house. There are just so many cool animations with each unit within the game that you will have fun just watching the units standing still. I noticed that the footmen sheathed their swords and drank from their mugs when idle. Also they have a different login screen to look at before starting. The single player campaigns play a lot differently than the multiplayer. First difference is the obvious quests that you play. With the two different types of quests being the required and optional quests. The required are the quests you have to finish to complete the mission, the optional quests are quests you find as you go along in the game. The single player game has many quests, which you can complete, and there are goodies to find as you make your way through the game. We were walking up to some peasants and they changed to bandits-we were ambushed! The other RPG elements are the heroes that you use. I saw Prince Arthas and Jaina, a Mage. The heroes gain levels and skills. They also can carry Items to enhance their abilities. |
