Having wrapped up phase two with the issuance of their beta test patch, phase three of Blizzard's beta test for the highly anticipated Worlds of Warcraft MMORPG begins (as reported by the staff at GameSpy)...
One of the major issues that World of Warcraft had in its earlier version was that the team apparently hadn't quite anticipated the need for a robust trading, auction, and commerce system to handle the market for items and materials. The Postal System is the first aspect of what will hopefully be a completely revamped trade and market system. The Postal System gives players the ability to send and receive in-game mail. The mail system will be accessed via mailboxes placed in every inn in every town in Azeroth. The three types of mail include "Normal mail," which is text-only e-mails written on stationery that can include money transfers; "Packages," which are items sent via the mail system (although they can also include text and money); and "C.O.D. Packages" that are similar to packages, although they must be paid for before they can be opened. |
