Nevertheless, the staff of Shacknews have compiled all their reader's votes and finally listed their 2005 Game of the Year awards, of which "Guild Wars" took the lead in the PC RPG category (with "Star Wars: KotOR 2" as runner-up); "Dragon Quest VIII" took the PS2 RPG category (with "X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse" as runner-up); and "Jade Empire" took the Xbox RPG category (with "Fable: The Lost Chapters" as runner-up). Strange Shacknews didn't bother with an Adventure Gaming category, as there certainly were some memorable games of that genre released in 2005:-)
