|
Baldur's Gate: 10/10 points |
This is the one that started me on the Bioware / Black Isle slippery slope of ohmygod it's 3am and I've got work in the morning. Open ended but structured, great story, everything I want in an RPG. |
Baldur's Gate 2 - Shadows of Amn: 10/10 points |
Great NPCs, replayability and story, one of the best RPGs of all time. |
Curse Of The Azure Bonds: 10/10 points |
I played every single SSI D&D RPG, loved 'em. |
Dark Sun 1 - Shattered Lands: 10/10 points |
Fantastic, completed it back when it was released, I remember lots of areas to explore great plot for back then and great control over your characters. |
Divine Divinity: 10/10 points |
Way up there with BG and M&M7, excellent story, graphics, skill system and advancement. Innovative controls and quests. Fantastic. |
Dungeon Master: 9/10 points |
This ones the daddy!, I still remember trying to cage the end level baddy and win the game!. |
Dungeon Master 2 - The Legend of Skullkeep: 7/10 points |
Better graphics but not half the game DM1 was. |
Might & Magic 3 - Isles of Terra: 10/10 points |
The first ever real RPG I played on god knows what system. I recently went back to it again as I found a PC version, even now the graphics look pretty good, amazing how old it is, it looks better than 4 & 5.
I love this game, it is pure RPG entertainment as it should be, a large party, lots of stats, lots of enemies and a choice of ways to fight them. Superb. |
Might & Magic 6 - The Mandate of Heaven: 10/10 points |
This is about the oldest game I am garuanteed to play again and again.
A huge world to explore and you can explore all of it. Many, many varied quests and dungeons. A good skill and experience system, great inventory management, hundreds of items and spells.
In the top 3 best ever games for me, along with Baldurs gate and M&M7 |
Might & Magic 7 - For Blood and Honor: 10/10 points |
Replayed this again last month, this is my favourite RPG of all time, party based, lots of choices, lots of quests. Decent graphics, good storyline. Excellent. |
Might & Magic 8 - Day of the Destroyer: 10/10 points |
Probably not as good as 6 or 7 but still one of my favourite RPGS, completed it again last week. |
Might & Magic 9: 9/10 points |
With the patch I can say I had no problems, not as good as previous offerings but I enjoyed it and completed it. Far better than some higher rated games, eg Wizardry 8. |
Planescape: Torment: 6/10 points |
the 640 graphics look a bit dated now. Too much reading, not enough orcs and elves. Combat not as good as BG1 or BG2. I didn't finish this one as I lost interest 1/2 way through. Not my kind of RPG. |
Pool of Radiance: 10/10 points |
The 1st CRPG I played, superb, really sucked you in and made you play just a bit more. |
Pool of Radiance - Ruins of Myth Drannor: 3/10 points |
I got quite far into this when the stodgy interface and ridiculously slow combat made me give up and sell the game. |
Realms of Arkania 2 - Star Trail: 8/10 points |
Played this one back in 94, many fond memories of it. |
Stonekeep: 10/10 points |
Great value, a HUGE game, with great graphics for it's day, funny and fun NPCs and great gameplay. |
System Shock: 10/10 points |
Great atmospheric game for it's age. |
Wizardry 7 - Crusader of the Dark Savant: 5/10 points |
A very good game in it's day, but that day has now passed. Outdated graphics, you don't even see monsters til they're on top of you. Cumbersome item and spell management. |
Wizardry 8: 1/10 points |
Combat got tedious very, very rapidly. A terrible game. with an unrealistic amount of enemies. I was sadly fooled by the demo which gave the only well constructed level. |
