A Q&A session with Artifact Entertainment about Horizons: Empires of Istaria has been published at Horizons Vault. Here's something about building things and how long it will take:
Q: How long does it take for a city to be built? A house? A shack? Are there any strategic benefits to building a large house than there is to building a shack, due to the fact that as far as I know built structures cannot be destroyed?
A: The building of any community larger than one player’s plot will depend upon the efforts of all of the owners of the plots in the community, so it is not possible to determine the amount of time that will take. Any structure will require only a minimal amount of time to construct, but acquiring the resources for that construction could take a large amount of time. The advantages of having a larger structure, specifically a house, would be greater prestige, larger storage capacity, and more options for modification. Other structures would have specific advantages for the more resource costly versions of each structure. Player owned structures cannot be destroyed but communal structures may be. |
