Thanks to Eric from Groovalicious Games for letting us know that they have revisited the world of 'Fallout II'...Ages and ages and years ago I played Fallout and Fallout 2. Fallout had a show-stopper of a bug, right at the very very end of the game, so I was unable to actually finish it, quitting in disgust and immediately uninstalling the game after many attempts to bypass it (something to do with killing the end boss and then the game crashing to the desktop). Still didn't keep me from loving it, for some odd reason. Fallout 2 had a few serious bugs as well, including some that made a few quests impossible to complete, but nothing as severe as that one. Regardless, I never completed it either, getting frustrated by some combat or other against some heavily armored foes where I just kept getting annihilated. There are admittedly some great games out right now (Painkiller, Thrones and Patriots), but nothing lately has been appealing to me at a certain level. So I was leafing through my collection the other day, and was set upon by the desire to revisit this classic, see how it's held up all these years, and maybe even get further along this time. So this is neither a review nor a first impression, but more of a "retro-feel" kind of article. Let's see what you all think. |
