The secont feature over at RPGVault today is an Arx Fatalis Intelligence Report. Here's a bit from it:
Interface: The team has focused on making the interface simple and accessible. It includes indicators for mana and life levels, an inventory belt and a book with sections for the character paper doll plus characteristics and attributes, magic, and the auto-map plus quest log. The conversation system is based on contextual dialogues, and inventory capacity will be limited to encourage real decision-making about what to carry around. As seen at E3 in May, gameplay seemed to be quite smooth.
Technology: Arx uses a proprietary engine created specifically to fit the game design. The team has noted numerous features such as mip-mapping, mip-meshing (adaptative meshes), multi-channel animations, animation blending, 3D pathfinding, a powerful and versatile scripting/AI system, environmental audio, refinement mapping, shadows, particles, fog, dynamic lights, object and NPC physics, and more.
More info about this interesting game can be found following our "at a glance" link, of course, and within the next few days, we will bring you another Arx Fatalis Element of the Week, for sure :-) |
