In the battle for hearts and minds, fought within the ethereal realm of the MMORPG genre, it’s the highly stylised World of Warcraft that has wrested control from the successor to the previously untouchable Everquest.

While Everquest II may have been thwarted to some degree, it still continues to be successful, and with its technically superior graphics and widespread use of voice acting, presents itself as a more ‘grown-up’ game world.
