Gamespy has conducted an interview with Ragnar Tørnquist and Sverre Kvernmo, both of them Designers for Anarchy Online. The interview deals with the future of this futuristic MMORPG and how they handled the problems that were more than obvious when they launched the game. Here's a snippet for you:
GameSpy: What's downtime like for you? What do you do to just "chill the hell out?"
Ragnar Tørnquist: Oh, regular stuff. Any time spent *away* from computers is much appreciated. That's always a good thing. Playing console games is also a nice break from complicated PC games, at least for someone as dumb as me. The fewer buttons, the better. I'm a movie geek, so I spend way too much time watching DVDs. But generally I "chill the hell out" by just... chilling. Like "normal" people do. With friends and family, and… the cat.
Sverre Kvernmo: What downtime? Are the servers down?! Call the network! Seriously, I try to keep nights and weekends holy these days, though there was a time when games were everything. I have been busy fixing up my apartment lately, but otherwise like to read, write, draw, or socialize in some form, be it nights out, pen and paper RPGs, board games, or travels. I need to get out of the country from time to time. Norway's great, but it can be a bit harsh in the long run. |
