RPGVault has posted some first impressions from Pool of Radiance - Ruins of Myth Drannor. RPGVault being, well, rather friendly in general to everything that is released, the conclusion could be called a bashing really:
In my limited playing time to date, the aspect of Pool of Radiance that most stands out are its visuals. In particular, the character animations are very well drawn and fluid, and there are also some very attractive spell effects. However, in terms of the all-important gameplay, it's off to a comparatively slow start in terms of drawing me in, with the design of the interface being a hindrance. While there are hints that the rest of the game may hold more and greater possibilities, it remains to be seen if such promise will actually be fulfilled. |
