HomeLan Fed has posted an interview with Ubi Soft’s John Billington about Wolfpack's upcoming MMORPG Shadowbane:
HomeLAN - Shadowbane has been in development for a long time yet still has a growing following on the net. Why do you think the game has been the subject of such attention long before its release?

John Billington - Shadowbane has a huge, dedicated online community in large part because the game was originally developed and designed with input from many experienced MMO players who wanted to create the next generation of online games. Wolfpack has taken a lot of feedback from the community to develop this game and we continue to refine the game based on feedback from the beta testers and online community. Unlike other MMOs, the whole game play philosophy of Shadowbane is very open, flexible, and mutable, based on player input. It will be the players and online community who really determine the game play dynamics of Shadowbane. Shadowbane provides its player community with the freedom and tools to shape and create the future of the game, which is what will make the game such a unique experience for the players. We are calling this the “Dynamic World Model”, which allows the online community to participate in the game in such a way that it changes the dynamics of the game.

In addition, Shadowbane is going to provide unique challenges, (political, economic and military) not seen in other games. While other games focus on static questing and what some people call a “level treadmill”, Shadowbane sets new standards for the MMO genre by adding a strategic dimension to the typical MMO game play dynamics, and by providing players with the ability to physically change the history, politics and landscape of the game.
