It has been some little while since I last perused Lancer's Reactor, the premier website for all of your Freelancer needs and desires. Needless to say, I am still delighted to report that the Freelancer universe is still very much alive and well, as this small sampling of a few of the latest SP/MP modes only may attest to...
Starting off would be the "FireFly Medium Class Freighter Freelancer Mod" by Mod Engineer Godzero...
This MOD can be played in Multiplayer, Singleplayer and open Singleplayer games.
It adds the FireFly class Freighter, available on Planet Pittsburgh for $5000.
FireFly class freighters are one of the sturdiest classes of ships you will ever find in the universe. With a good crew these ships will practically live forever. Mostly used by smugglers because of its numerous hiding places, this ship has an excellent cargo carrying capacity and a strong reinforced hull, making it a popular choice with many traders. After its delivery to Sirius in 312 AS it went through a complete overhaul to help it better cope with the dangers of the Sirius system, including 3 chin mounted gun mounts and 5 hull mounted turret mounts. With that much firepower Firefly's can go anywhere in Sirius with near immunity.
And then there are the "XTS-Deracuz Freelancer Mod" and the "XTS-Vancusz Freelancer Mods" by Xtreme Team Studios - both of which can be played in Multiplayer and Open Singleplayer games. Open Singleplayer is built in so there's no storyline to go through.
Still under construction (but worthy of mention) is the "Omicron Nomad System - Freelancer Mod" by Modder Lee Marshall - which adds a new system called Omicron Nomad to the game, and can be played in Multiplayer, Singleplayer and Open Singleplayer games.
Rounding off today's report would be the "Battleship MOD - Freelancer
Mod" by Mod Engineer cold85...
This MOD can be played in Multiplayer, Singleplayer and Open Singleplayer games.
It adds 3 Battleships to Freelancer. The Liberty, Bertonia and Rheinland Battleships.
All three ships can be bought on Planet Manhattan.
They are flyable and buyable but do not have shields or thrusters and move slow as they are Battleships.
