RPG Vault has posted an interview with CrossCut Games' Adam West and Dan Schnake about their fantasy RPG 'Dungeon Delvers'.
Dungeon Delvers is developer CrossCut Games' upcoming RPG that takes place in a fantasy-themed land where magical markets, troubled cities, gloomy forests, feral beasts and more await. That sounds quite familiar, and so does the concept of wandering through it with an intrepid, diverse party. On the other hand, while keeping an eye on the project for some time, we've also become aware of some interesting differences. For instance, you can choose your band of four from more than 30 possibilities. Not only that, if the composition of a particular group proves less than fully suited to a particular task, you can begin anew after replacing any or all of the members. If the idea of starting over doesn't strike you as savory, it's certainly mitigated by the fact that adventures are designed to last no more than an hour.

Selecting your mix of characters will require strategic thinking. A team of savage Trolls and Orcs will be rather formidable in close combat situations, but will be hard pressed if magic is called for, and won't do well at all when dealing with most vendors. Bringing along a Merchant type would help, or you could try to obtain any necessary supplies through brute force. You'll also want to consider which characters function well in other environments, and what combinations complement each other. The Scout and Beastmaster are both suited to the wild, but will they work in concert? Should you select both the Thief and the Spy? When should you pick the Archmage over the Witch? They weren't about to offer up such spoilers, but Adam West and Dan Schnake did agree to tell us a lot about their game.
