A preview of Another War has been posted at Invisibledeam today. Here's a snip:
The story takes place in Nazi-occupied Europe during World War II (no futuristic Third Reich this time, lads), taking some of it's inspiration from movies, books and TV shows such as Crusaders of the Lost Arc, Allo Allo, Catch 22, Saving Private Ryan, Dirty Dozen and others. As you can see, with references to Allo Allo, the developers are trying to add a bit of humor into the story, but Saving Private Ryan and Dirty Dozen more than make up for it in the seriousness stakes. The story itself sees the player take on the role of a lone soldier, searching a long forgotten French village looking to save a friend from the clutches of the occupying Nazis. From there on, your journey will take you from France to the deepest depths of besieged Leningrad, where you will come across one of the Russian and German's biggest secret projects. On your journey through Europe you'll come up against Nazis who will do anything to stop you from reaching Leningrad and uncovering their devastating secret project. The battle system is closely linked to an extended character development system, where the player will be able to improve their characters statistics as the game progresses, allowing for more depth and giving the player a closer link to their avatar. |
