The previously reported problem that players of The Matrix Online were having were fixed in the game's latest update. Additionally, a somewhat significant change made its way into a recent update without being mentioned in any previous announcements or release notes. The change increases the rate of item decay on specific items in certain areas of the game, and is now fully explained in an official announcement.
We apologize for not getting this information out before the patch, but there was a miscommunication about item changes that resulted from the reflow. As part of the re-leveling of the Slums (Richland) and Barrens (Westview), Collector items and Exile Hideout Boss loot were also adjusted to be level-appropriate for the neighborhoods. Therefore, the decay rate was increased on the old versions of the items, while the new ones have a normal decay rate.

We understand that changes like this should always be announced beforehand and apologize again for the lack of communication. These changes were by design in order to get old items out of the system, as was done with grandfathered movement-speed enhanced items when the movement-speed caps were adjusted. However, now these special items have been re-leveled as appropriate for their neighborhoods.
