A preview of World of Warcraft has been posted at Gamers.com. Here's a tasty snippet:
You can think of World of WarCraft as an online version of Diablo. Just as in the Diablo Action/RPG series, you control one character with an easy to use interface, skill system, and simple but addicting combat. There will naturally be the basic attack, but skills like Defend, taken right out of WarCraft III, will allow the player to truly take command of the combat. All abilities, even so early in the game's production, are easy to access at the bottom left of the screen in a box for hotkeyed abilities, and are represented by the same icons from WarCraft III. A full magic system was also demonstrated. Thankfully, there will also be a mini-map, which seems to be a staple in next generation MMORPGs (like Star Wars Galaxies, and Asheron's Call 2). Even with the mini-map, WOW heavily uses teleport scrolls, much like the Town Portal of Diablo, to take players around with the world with speed and style. Additionally, when you zone from area to area, and even from dungeon to dungeon, the name (like "Northshire Abbey") will pop up letting you know right where you are.
