There is a preview of Magic & Mayhem 2 - The Art of Magic at Gamezilla today. Here's a bit about gameplay and interface:

Magic & Mayhem: The Art of Magic has a lot going for it, including a fairly unique viewing system. First off, the whole game can be played strictly with your mouse. Use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out on the bird's-eye view. The cursor moves the camera around Aurax's current area. Icons line the bottom of the screen, activating the various magic and items that you collect; there is an area map in the upper right section of the screen. The whole interface is easy to use, clean-looking and uncluttered. Moving the game characters is simple: click the left mouse button to highlight a character, then click the right button where you want the character to go. While walking, you can click on the fireball icon and start picking off enemies with the right mouse button. If you don't like the view, the whole screen rotates 360 degrees for your viewing pleasure.

While this game appears to be an RPG, it also contains adventure game elements. Each stage of the story is a section of a giant map that appears between stages; you move the character icon onto a different part of the map to enter that area. When you exit a level, a window opens up telling you everything you accomplished on the level along with a skill point value. Once you accumulate enough skill points, you can jack up Aurax's statistics to make him a better adventurer. It's neat to see that seemingly unimportant events are actually essential to the flow of the game and have skill points attached to them. More than once after beating a stage, I thought there was something extra I might have missed. I played the first several stages 3 times and found something new each time. This game has definite replay value.
