IGN.PC has put up some first impressions from Dungeon Siege (to be released April 5th). The article is quite positive, even mentioning some changes since the press beta:
The gameplay is fairly simple at this stage of the game as well, although I can see more reasons to think things through as I move farther along. Assigning formations and priorities for your characters is easy and fun. The pace can be hectic and trying at times when you find your party set on by hordes of enemies, but that's part of the fun. Being able to pause and give out commands helps a bit in those situations, but you'll need to learn the hotkeys to switching weapons and such if you don't like to play with pausing a game like this.
Some little things have been changed to the gameplay like not getting shocked by almost every barrel and crate you open because it was trapped. Now you get shot by an arrow but out of much fewer crates and barrels. A couple of the sequences that didn't work for Steve or I in the beta are also working now, which was expected, but still nice to see. |
