The original The Matrix movie was a bona fide phenomenon. Though it built upon many familiar elements, the combination of wire-fu combat, leather trenchcoats, and a "virtual reality gone wrong" dystopia, seemed exciting and new. Though the franchise has successfully branched out into a number of directions, one of the most anticipated incarnations of The Matrix will be launched this March when The Matrix Online goes live.
