Also at RPG Vault, you can find an E3 report about Disciples II: Dark Prophecy, a turn-based fantasy Strategy-RPG by Strategy First:Like its award-winning predecessor, Disciples II: Dark Prophecy places players in a fantasy gameworld where the aforementioned four races and their respective gods are vying for supremacy. This time around, that world is depicted in 800x600 resolution using 16-bit color. In addition, the battle screens are larger and more detailed, as are the combatant characters themselves. The interface is also sleeker and more stylish, although the basic functionality seems to have remained pretty similar. Referring to one of Sacred Land's artistic features, Danny noted that Dark Prophecy will have all new leader and unit portraits, although the ones in the demo build seemed to be placeholders. Overall, while the visuals in the first game were certainly well-drawn, these changes combine with some nice spell effects and a brighter, richer palette to make a difference that will be immediately noticeable to anyone who played the original.
