I must say something at the onset of this preview. I am a huge fan of Diablo II. Now, that said, you will, hopefully, better understand where I am coming from in thie preview. Restricted Area is the closest thing I have played that captures the spirit of Diablo II in a very long time. In fact, if all goes well it could possibly see a long lifespan. The only complaint I have is tha the version I played was a limited version. It was exactly one level!

Restricted Area is a Bladerunneresqe version of the Diablo I know and love. Now, I know you have heard many times that this game or that is a "Diablo clone" or "Diablo killer." I remember playing, and even enjoying many games that made this claim: Darkstone, Dungeon Siege and many others, that ultimately lost fizzled out in time. Could Restricted Area possibly fit the bill as a worthy companion to THE Diablo?
