It was one of the first sites I visited regularly, and it's ugly to see another gaming news site faint away. Here's something about them: FGN Online: FGN Online – Fastest Game News Online – has closed after four years of publishing. The site was an independent affiliate of IGN, and was published by UK company Interactive News Central. INC said the site had ceased to turn a profit, adding that no upturn appeared likely. The company continues to operate, supplying content to companies in Europe and the US. The site was first published as 'GameAddict' in 1997. Within a year it had been rebranded FGN Online. It sought to publish short news bulletins about games and the game industry every morning (US time). The site generally published between 20 and 30 stories a day – a mixture of press releases, gossip, new screenshots and interviews. At the time of closure the site was attracting its highest ever audiences – about 50,000 readers a day. Recent research found the site was being read by a 50:50 mixture of dedicated gamers and game industry creatives or professionals. Bye, folks. I'll miss you.
