GameSpy has posted a "candid look" at Tabula Rasa, reporting from GDC 2006.
The famed game designer gave a very candid lecture on the MMO's turbulent development history at GDC today, which gave attendees not only a wonderful, broad view on the game's production process, but also a unique chance to witness how a project can metamorphose in a very dramatic manner as the market around it shifts. To be sure, creating an ambitious, original MMO is no easy task, and to do so while simultaneously founding a game studio would seem to border on the Herculean, but that's just what Garriott tried to do with Tabula Rasa and Destination.
