Warcry's Ohgma unveils this review-of-sorts covering the Dungeons & Dragons supplemental book entitled "Races of Destiny" which, while not especially earth-shattering RPG gaming news, is still a rather interesting addition to the RPG trivia section...
Today I got my hands on Races of Destiny, the Dungeons and Dragons supplement book. When you think Races of Destiny, what would come to mind? Elves, maybe Dwarves, anything but Humans? Well, guess what, Races of Destiny are Humans, and anything closely related to Humans. As a matter of fact, once you read this book you will probably be as proud to be a Human as you are loathe to being a Human.
The supplement starts by giving you a great overview of Human life, emotion, society and culture. It covers everything from what makes a Human tick to how they express their ability to tick. It covers the Human's ability to adapt, to learn, and even tolerate. At the same time, it covers the Human’s ability to be stubborn and judgmental.
The book is dedicated to the Human race as well as the Half-Human and 'Semi'-Human races. You will get more insight into the makings and thought processes of the Half-Elf and Half-Orc, as well as being introduced to the huge Half-Ogre, the decidedly ugly Mongrelfolk, the ever-changing Doppelgangers, the proud Sharakim (a.k.a. “I’m not an Orc!”), and the magical Illumians among many others. |
