GameFusion presents us their Neverwinter Nights review, and their rating is 79%. Here's their conclusion (what they call Boulders Gate is Baldur's Gate for sure *g*):
I have been given the task of playing a reviewing the game Never Winter Nights. Many envied me having the chance to play this brilliant game that has been in development for so long. I count myself lucky to have the chance to voice my opinions. Some may say I have no patients. Others will say I have a bad taste in video games but when it comes to RPG games like Never Winter Nights my concentrations span last seconds. Like reading a book, I read one page and by the end of the 1st page I have lost interest and forgotten what I have been reading about. The same thing happened when playing Never Winter Nights. The start of the game was quite boring with lots of reading about how to control and use your character but the making of the character was excellent. Unlike previous games of its type like Ice Wind Dale and Boulders Gate this game gives you a lot more choices to make with your character. You have more voices, clothes and skills to choose from. Despite the boring start with lots of reading about how to control and use your character this could be raced through quickly if you have played this type of game before. In combat this game really excels with some excellent player movement and a brilliant combat system. Like most the hits are reliant on the roll of a dice. You have more chance with the roll if you are higher skilled in certain areas e.g. Accuracy, Strength. The games graphics are good but compared to games such as Morrowind and Dungeon Siege this games doesn’t compare. Previously in games of this sort the combat has been rather boring with random players swiping at each other with little movement. In Never Winter Nights this has all changed, the characters duck and dive to avoid being hit. They use multiple fighting techniques to hit and kill there opponents. If you have enjoyed playing previous titles such as Ice Wind Dale and Boulders Gate this may be a good choice for you but if you like your graphics and game play more intense and gripping then Morrowind is more your game.
