1Up's Jeff Green (of CGM & CGW fame) releases his own remarkably rave review for inXile's classic, "The Bard's Tale", for which Jeff (with a little help from his friends:-) awards it an overall 8.2 out of 10...

As the great philosopher/poet David St. Hubbins once said, "There is such a fine line between stupid and clever." And so it is with The Bard's Tale, a game that could have been very stupid indeed, but thanks to a smart and talented team, it manages instead to be extremely entertaining (mostly). Developer InXile Entertainment delivers what few could have pulled off: a joke-filled parody of the RPG genre that manages to be a decent action-RPG itself. Given that most games can't figure out how to be either funny or fun to play, it's laudatory that The Bard's Tale deftly accomplishes both.
