1) Thanks to CDV's (publisher) Spencer Low for sending us this new weekly Divine Divinity feature. It includes an mp3 ("War & Peace"), a Q&A with music composer Kirill Pokrovsky and a few thumbnail sized screenshots from the intro sequence (follow the link from above to the official site for the full screen version of the shots). All of the stuff can be downloaded right here (ZIP file @ ~2.8MB).
This week we bring you a new sound track from the game Divine Divinity
called 'War and Peace' composed by the infamous Kirill Pavorsky. If you
like mullets, you will like Kirill as he is seen here still trapped in the
80's (Scroll down to download image from the link). We managed to drag him
out of his busy schedule and ask a few questions.
--------------------------
KIRILL, THIS NEW SOUNDTRACK IS VERY STIRRING, EMOTIONAL AND ATMOSPHERIC.
COULD YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT THIS SOUNDTRACK AND THE INSPIRATION BEHIND IT?
This piece of music was created with live violins in which two emotions are
represented, passion and the cold power of magic. The music was recorded
with percussions playing live and an acoustic violin.
This piece of music appears in the game, in the town Verdistis. The song
very clearly represents the tension that exists in the city between the few
forces ruling it and the rest of the citizens who are poor and have no power
to defend themselves. The citizens are not happy with their conditions and
therefore the music is very tense and sad and the same time, its rhythm
clearly represents the busy life.
WHATS WITH THE HAIR AND WHERE WAS THIS PICTURE TAKEN?
Well, the ladies like it and I have grown very attached, hope it makes a
comeback ;). This picture was taken at Ronnenburg Castle in Germany for the
first unveiling of Divine Divinity to the public. That was about 4 months
ago and since then the game has generated a lot of interest.
--------------------------
THANKS KIRILL, MULLETS=POWER AND YOU MY FRIEND ARE VERY POWERFUL.
That's not all, as an added bonus this week I will also be releasing some
screenshots of The Magicians of the Black Ring. They are the sinister force
in the lands of Rivellon with the ultimate goal of ruling the kingdom, the
full story will be revealed soon...

2) Larian's CEO and project leader of Divine Divinity, Swen "Lar" Vincke has commented on a stats discussion at the official forum:Yes, there is a difference in how your primary stats affect your secondary stats. A small time ago we changed the stats system rather heavily to make balancing easier (for us ), and in the meantime improved the things which were wrong with the original system.
The primary stats are
Strength
Agility
Intelligence
Constitution
Strength affects among other things how much you can carry, what weapons/armor you can use, how much damage you do
Agility affects among other things your chance to hit, your chance to be hit, what weapons/armor you can use and how good you are with them
Intelligence is the main thing for calculating how much mana you have, and is necessary for using a number of things
Consitution affects your stamina, stamina drain and your vitality
Depending on whether you are a survivor, warrior or wizard, the impact of the primary stats on the things which are derived from it are different.
