If Everquest couldn't get any better, it seems it will, with a whole load of new features coming with Shadows of Luclin. From a newsbit found at IGN PC, heres info on possibly the largest new feature (other than improved graphics) that will come with the expansion:
The team has also included a new alternate advancement system for players over 50th level. Players at that level will have two experience pools -- one for level advancement and one for ability increases. The player can toggle back and forth between either of the pools with no penalty.
As you accumulate points in your alternate advancement pool, you'll be able to purchase new abilities. Things like "minor permanent statistic and resistance boosts, unique skills based on your class or archetype and general skills" will be available. The various enhancements may even include things like "enhanced metabolism" or "unique skills not yet available to anyone." Several of the enhancements will open up even more enhancements (and, by extension, justify your continued online existence as a form of self-improvement). Any experience lost when you character dies will be deducted from your leveling pool.
