A really interesting article and one that dovetails nicely with the discussion earlier in the week about reviews...not that they cover the same ground but it adds something to the general discussion of reviews. The new issue of the Susquehanna Financial Group's Video Game Journal contains an in-depth analysis of the correlation, or lack thereof, between video game review scores and the resulting performance at retail. According to the authors of the study, Jason Kraft and Chris Kwak, there is little relationship between a game's critical and commercial reception. You can read the rest of the snippet at Gamasutra. I'm rather hoping that they'll link to the full study in the next several days. | Source: Gamasutra |
