CD Projeckt might not be a household name in the U.S., but it is the leading distributor of games in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. So while the company name might not ring a bell, there is a lot of experience behind it. Its latest project, an action-oriented role-playing game called The Witcher, is about 20 months into its development and is slated for a mid-to-late 2006 release. From what we saw today behind closed doors at the show, there is reason to get excited about this new RPG.
