Call of Cthulhu (Gesundheit!) has been previewed at Frictionless Insight. This is a part of what they have to say about this game recently aquired by Bethesda Softworks:
CoC is easily up to the standards quickly being established for the next generation of PC titles. Most importantly for a horror title, the developers have focused on the environment's detail - particularly on the light and shadow. The shadows seem like they could conceal horrors, but without making the entire screen too dark to be playable. The finer details make the world of CoC seem real. In the Gilmore Hotel, paint peels off wooden molding, and the entire building has the décor of a functional, but poorly maintained inn. Sound is just as important as the visuals. After shoring up the doors to his hotel room with furniture, Jack was threatened by the sounds of creatures pounding the barricaded doors methodically, and calling to each other.
