1UP has posted their review of RF Online, giving it a 4/10. From the review:
With the lack of social and party dynamics there isn't much else to distract from the grind. There's not a lot of variety to the sights, and while the terrain of the game's dozen or so zones looks nice enough from a distance, in close the world is very sparse and the textures tend to be muddy. That, and there's not a lot to set the zones apart from one another.
There's little in the way of story to get involved in, either. Quests just show up spontaneously on a list, no chatting up of NPCs required. These are invariably something like "Kill X of Y," or "Collect X Quest Items," with nothing much in the way of a storyline excuse to do so. We're not being cute with that generic "Quest Item" part, either. They really are just called "Quest Items."
