Xabre Gamers have an interview with Dmitry Kolpakov, PR-manager at Nival Interactive covering several of their games including Etherlords 2. Here's an excerpt:
What are the main differences between Etherlords 1 & 2?
The main change has been taking the game from strategy to adventure. It is a great opportunity to rethink many central elements of the game like interface, story and maps. We really had one major goal in mind when making any change in the game from big to small – minimize management and maximize the fun. So now the game handles repetitive tasks automatically and you may spend a majority of it in exploration and combats. Speaking of combats – we made a lot of changes to expand how you approach tactics in combat. Such are new Pale spells (playable by any race) and the increase of spell slots. We’ve changed the runic system along with spell purchase interface so that now you can switch between your active and reserve spells either before or after a duel – so each combat gets a more personal approach and provides myriads of tactical possibilities. |
