Dave Maldonado has been interviewed by HomeLan Fed about Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance 2, the console sequel being developed in-house by Black Isle. Here's a snip:

HomeLAN - What can you tell us about the storyline behind Dark Alliance II?
Dave Maldonado - BGDA2's story starts just before the first game's ends: the five new characters--professional adventurers by trade--are en route to Baldur's Gate to help defeat Eldrith and her dark alliance. By the time they arrive, though, the three heroes of BGDA have already left the city, slain Eldrith, and vanished along with her black tower.
After the initial reputation-bolstering/merit-proving bits are done, the core of the game is dealing with the new/"true" dark alliance that's hinted at in the first game, while one of the side-stories is finding out what happened to the original trio and, if possible, saving them.
