There is a massive update at the official Lineage site today, introducing Episode Nine:
Summary
We’ve got news, news, and more news about the upcoming release of Lineage Episode Nine, the plans for the North American re-launch of Lineage, and the return of Lord British to online gaming. Interested?
Detail
Lineage Episode Nine (The Kingdom of Eva) will be published to the North American servers on Tuesday, October 23rd and will contain the changes listed later in this announcement. We will be sending game CDs to all customers with valid, paid accounts on the North American servers. If you are a current Lineage customer playing on the North American servers, we recommend that you visit the registration section of the Lineage website (http://www.lineagethebloodpledge.com/registration) before Friday, October 12th to update your billing address.
In addition to the publish of Episode Nine to the North American servers, October 23rd will mark the beginning of the official re-launch of Lineage the Bloodpledge in the United States. We’ll be bringing a new version of the Lineage website online and starting a series of promotions: Lineage ads, CDs, and even an event marking the return of Lord British to the world of online gaming. We’re even throwing a party (or perhaps a few!)
Game companies traditionally hold parties to celebrate the launch of new games, and NC Austin is no exception. Only this time, we’re inviting everyone! If you’re in or around the Austin, Texas area, you’re invited to join us on October 25th at the Coppertank Brewery (504 Trinity St. Austin, TX) - we’ll be there at 8:00 PM with food, drink, stories, and perhaps a few CDs and t-shirts. We hope you’ll stop by and celebrate with us!
Over the next couple months, we’ll release additional details on special events - both in-game and out - promotions, and other exciting news associated with the relaunch of Lineage the Bloodpledge. We hope you enjoy what we’ve planned!
First up, however, are the changes included with the new Episode Nine: Kingdom of Eva update! Both above and below the ocean, this new land offers dangerous challenges and beautiful but deadly new areas to explore. Included in Episode Nine are the following changes:
Kingdom of Eva
The Kingdom of Eva will be introduced. This area is home to a new castle, new dungeons, a new town, and safe houses available for auction. With lush forests and vast underwater hunting areas, Eva is home to a wealth of new creatures such as mermen, sharks, crabmen, seahorses, and much more. For the most daring of adventurers, the water dragon Fafurion waits in the very depths of the ocean.
Singing Island/Hidden Valley
Singing Island and Hidden Valley provide safe starting locations for players new to the world of Lineage. NPCs in these areas will provide instruction and healing for knights, mages, and prince/princesses under the level of 10. Players level 10 and above will be automatically teleported out of these areas.
Game Client Changes
The client interface has been updated to always display:
Alignment
Encumbrance
Hunger Status
Day/Night cycle
Party menu
All game graphics have been optimized. A full CD install of Lineage will now require approximately 200 megabytes less hard drive space, and the download size of graphic updates will be greatly decreased.
Character Creation
Tips have been added to the character creation screens.
The default starting character will now be of the Knight class.
Players will now be able to adjust their starting stats from a base number rather than rolling at random for stats.
Character class descriptions have been updated to indicated the average difficulty of the class.
Miscellaneous Changes
Summoned monsters will disappear once dismissed. The creatures will drop to the ground any items they are carrying.
The Dupelgenon quest may be completed correctly.
Monster loot has been adjusted. While some creatures may appear to drop less adena than before, their chance of dropping an item may have increased. However, there should be an overall average improvement in the amount of items and adena dropped.
Arrows will do half-damage to monsters with thick, armored skin.
Curse spells cast on players or pets will cause the caster to turn temporarily chaotic.
Poison will stop once the player is frozen.
Level-ups will be visible to other players after the leveling character reaches level 2. |
