I wasn't sure what to expect when I downloaded the 90kb client for Guild Wars. I had been told that Streaming Technology allowed not only for a microscopic game client, but also paved the way for real-time updating, and letting players jump right in instead of waiting for a patch period. Installation involved pulling content directly from ArenaNet, which was a process that would continue even while I was playing. The initial installation screen was very short in comparison to similar games installed off a CD. I was ready to log into my temporary account and choose a character in well under five minutes.
