RPGVault talked to some unnamed guys at Vircom about Black Moon Chronicles - Winds of War. Here's a part of the interview:
Jonric: What are the most important things you have learned during beta, and how have they affected the design or development of the game?

Vircom: That would be listening to what beta testers have to say and working as a unit, meaning that all the dev teams must work towards the same goal. Listening to beta tester feedback is some times easier said than done. While they are trying to be helpful and want to participate in making the game as good as it can be, it is sometimes hard to swallow when you're told that the feature on which you've spent so much time and put so much effort in is not as good, as cool or as useful as you thought it would be... but it's all part of being a developer :)

Why is it important? Because beta-testers give us an outside opinion and a bit of a reality check on our game. It definitely affects the design and the development of the game because after you receive their feedback and you analyse it, the elements from it that will be taken into account and implemented in the game will have an impact on the development the game.
