Next Level Gaming have reviewed Eve Online with a final score of 88%. There's also an integrated preview trailer and something like 150 screenshot thumbnails (which made the page fairly slow for me). Here's an excerpt:
The problem with reviewing a game like EVE is that it's so expansive, to really give you a feel for it, I almost have to write this as a FAQ. There is no way I will be able to go into everything this game can do, but I will do my best to hit the big points. There is no one player mode in EVE. It is completely online, and the universe is as vast as your imagination. You start by creating your character. Your character is very customizable right from the start. You pick your race and name, then you can modify how the character looks (which becomes your profile shot) right down to actually pulling and tugging on the skin to make it how you want. Then you choose what specialty your character has. You can be whatever you want; a scientist, a business person, a fighter pilot, or even a pirate. Once you get your attributes in line, you're given your first beginning spaceship, and it's time to go make something of yourself. From this moment on, or at least until you get blown up or decide to scrap your character, it's up to you what you do. |
