A review of Summoner 2 (Ps2) at Invisible Dreams comes to this very positive conclusion:
As an entire package, Summoner 2 is quite a bundle. Like Red Faction 2, Volition has taken something great and transformed it into something unbelievable. While you may have enjoyed the original Summoner title to great depths, it probably did not prepare you for one of the most amazing RPG stories to date. Taking place twenty years after the original, Summoner 2 feels like an entirely new experience rather than a continuation of a series. Hopefully, you’ll realize this when you watch the opening sequence, as the Tree of Eleh is shattered by a tremendous storm of evil, scattering the orbs of Aosi. Just this sequence alone should give you some aspect of the classic fiction the Summoner series as laid down. Summoner 2 is a great, enthralling RPG, firmly taking root in classic gaming history, and a must-own for any PlayStation 2 owner.
The overall rating is 90%.
