Games Domain has posted up a preview of Bandai's Playstation 2 MMORPG '.hack: Infection'.
Here's a bit:Game environments will mirror this concept of the real world being intermingled with a standard RPG. So, for example, Kite will encounter regular RPG monsters that have been corrupted by the Internet, transforming them into Data Bugs. Using something called a Data Drain, Kite will release these monsters so they can continue being a part of the regular RPG. If all that sounds complicated, well, then welcome to Japanese anime, because the game seems to borrow heavily from the convoluted storylines of this popular cartoon format. In basic terms, the game will let Kite explore a huge gameworld that looks similar to typical Final Fantasy-ish RPG fare. |
