There is a preview on Arcanum at Desslock. This one is written up by Calis who knows Arcanum very well. And like us he was wondering what news he could tell on Arcanum, but Sierra just gave him a new feature complete build of Arcanum.... lucky him.
Some gamers, especially fans of Interplay's Fallout, tend to get snobby about turn-based combat. Many of them claim that it is by far the superior system for role-playing games. Other gamers prefer fast-paced real-time combat as in the Diablo games (That would be me - Chris). To get around this controversy, Troika decided to put both game modes in Arcanum. The turn-based combat system is similar to that of the Fallout games, with one notable improvement. You might remember an annoyance of Fallout: leftover action points. After firing your SupahDoopahGun™, you'd usually be left with two or three odd points that were completely and utterly useless. In Arcanum, you will be able to spend more action points than you have left in a turn, at the expense of fatigue points. Like I stated before, you'll pass out when you're out of fatigue, so watch out how much you spend.
