Amalor at WoG found out that KaiRo has given two lectures on a meeting of the International Game Developers Association in September 2004. In this lectures KaiRo tells about two new, self-made programs they use in the development of Gothic 3.

His first lecture had the title "Interaktivität oder orchestrale Qualität oder beides?" (transl: "Interactivity or orchestra quality or both?") and is about a new system KaiRo developed which is capable of mixing high-quality sound and music with flexible response to interactivity. The essence is that every piece of music or audio has meta data attached to it, so the program "knows" when it can create a transition to another audio file.

The second lecture was named "Assetverwaltung am Beispiel einer proprietären Lösung für Gothic III" (transl: "File management on the basis of an example of an appropriate solution for Gothic 3.) KaiRo explains in this lecture why they have decided to use their own Source File Versioning System called FLEX.NET. This tool free for use for everybody interested.
KaiRo mentions that there were about 20.000 files to manage in Gothic 2 and that it will be more than 100.000 in Gothic 3.
