Bioware finally got their first true mainstream hit with 2003's smash Star Wars epic Knights of the Old Republic. It took their tried and true Dungeons & Dragons RPG style and applied it, in full 3D, to a brand new Star Wars universe with few ties to the original movies. While they outsourced development of the sequel to KOTOR to Obsidian Entertainment, they've branched out with a new property called Jade Empire. I got the chance to play a demo version of the game, and while the experience is short, it's definitely pretty sweet.
