Silven Crossroads have posted a review of Star Wars: KotOR. The score for each category is 10 which results in a final score of...10! Here's a snip:
In this game, every combatant is forced to start and finish the combat round at exactly the same time, giving the game an extremely strategic “turn-based” feel to it, especially late in the game where skillful use of Force powers becomes mandatory. While the game is paused between rounds, you can issue a string of up to four commands for each party member. This is a handy feature, since you can just have one Jedi in the back doing nothing but casting heal or Force Aura while everyone else fights on the frontline. This combat system introduces a style of play that I have never seen before on a console, and unfortunately haven’t found on the PC since the days of the Gold Box games. Although you can set the game completely to “real-time”, it can be incredibly difficult to manage your party, and is only feasible when fighting no more than one or two opponents.
I'll be interested to see how KotOR reviews on the PC...
