Next Level Gaming have reviewed the Xbox version of Pirates of the Caribbean. It's a lukewarm review and the final score is 68. In particular, it seems the bugs took their toll:
While most of this might seem like it all adds up to a winner of a game, Pirates of the Caribbean is riddled with so many bugs and glitches that it takes the fun moments you have and tosses them swiftly out the nearest window. On one occasion, my character began to walk towards another character to engage in conversation when he stepped through an object and into one of the invisible border walls (the ones that keep you from wandering too far off the beaten path in the jungle). When the conversation ended, I was stuck standing there and I could not move. This was just seconds after a rather difficult sword fight with numerous French soldiers, but the game didn’t care about that and I was forced to reload from my last save point (about 10 minutes prior, ugh). There is also the rumored save data bug that completely corrupts your save file that you will never be able to load again. I personally have not encountered this bug, but just to be on the safe side I recommend saving in numerous save-slots so that you can always go back to another one. There are many other little bugs and glitches in this game that I’m not going to go into detail about, but be warned that this game isn’t problem free. Save often.
